About

Liting Wang is an emerging artist based in Vancouver, BC., Canada. She received a diploma in Visual Arts at Camosun College in Victoria BC., Canada, and obtained a bachelor in Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.

Influenced by minimalism and structuralism, Wang’s artistic practice is mainly involved with the unity of the negative spaces in ceramic and sculpture. Early in her practice, she combined organic materials such as clay and wood to explore and create their coherence in space, shape and texture. The architectural and industrial compositions of wood creates a new perspective when it comes into ceramic field, as well as the mechanical component that creates movement and system within the work in the contemporary practice. After she graduated from university, she starts practicing the skills for making functional ware and continues integrating the idea into the form of daily use objects.
